To start off with I scanned in a print that I had recently developed in the darkroom. I chose this image due to the high contrast and the noir-esque silhouettes and alley way. Below is the original scanned in. As you can see there are various water marks on it.

To improve the look of the photo moved the levels so that the dark tones where darker, the mid tones where darker and the light tones were lighter. This created a well balanced high contrast image. Whilst doing this the watermarks were also removed. I like this effect as it has it has made the silhouettes darker which has a bigger film noir effect. It has also emulated the low key lighting.

I then added the text. I chose Chicago Chase as Chicago is a typical location in noir films and chase because of the alley. This best gives an idea of the film from the picture. I added the "MY CITY" for effect and to provoke the viewers thoughts. I achieved the colours by dodging the text with the dodging tool set to darken. This gave each text individual colouring.

Below is my final poster design. I felt that it was an enjoyable task. However it was made easier by putting a title to a photo opposed to putting a picture to a title. I feel my final poster is similar to Sin City or The Spirit.
